Social Media Fast Food Restaurant Burger War [Infographic]

I don’t eat much fast food, but I have friends who love it. I do like Subway and Baskin-Robbins, so maybe I eat at those places more than I realize. We all have our favorites, and some fit certain situations more than others. For example, if you happen to be hungry in the middle of the night, nothing beats Taco Hell. If you are out on a Saturday morning, Dunkin’ Donuts might be the best choice. Have you ever wondered how these fast food restaurants stack up when compared from a social media standpoint? The people at Unmetric, the social media benchmarking company, pondered this question over lunch one day.

The result of that conversation led to this infographic called Quick Service Restaurants In Real Time. I already knew that McDonald’s was kicking ass and taking names in social media even before I read this (you can read more about that at How To Make A McDonald’s Big Mac At Home). They are producing viral content faster than it can be shared, but I had no idea about the rest of the restaurants on this list. It’s interesting that the most popular way these brands create a little buzz and engagement is by asking questions. That proves to be a great strategy time and time again.

I was very impressed that most of the ones on this list reply in social media. It’s kind of neat that 3 days is the slowest response time out of the bunch (Burger King). There is one tiny annoying thing on this infographic that we see over and over (can you say pet peeve?)… It’s when times are listed with no time zones. It makes that information completely useless. However, overall, this is very well done, and it gave me about 3 minutes of social media entertainment. I hope it does for you too. Oh, one last thing, I wish we had an In-N-Out Burger in Atlanta!! #thatisall
