We’ve all met people on our social media journey that we would like to meet in person someday, right? If you are single girl, you might have even met a boy you’d like to meet or vice versa.
I saw a stat being tweeted earlier this week that said 8% of marriages in the United States in 2009 were a result of Twitter alone! I hesitated about putting the video below in this article because it freaks me out. To me, it’s very Blair Witch Project 2.0 with a social media twist.
This is a 2-minute trailer for a movie called Catfish that is supposedly coming out in the fall. At the beginning, it seems innocent enough… It’s a simple story. Boy meets girl on FaceBook, they start talking on the phone, boy and girl start calling each other baby, boy wants to meet girl, you know the drill.
However, the whole thing takes a very Alfred Hitchcock turn towards the end. I have to admit, I’m in. If this is going to be a real movie, I want to see it. The big question here is… Is this a movie about the wackos we innocently encounter online and become close to or is this just a movie with a scary plot that some twenty year olds created to have a good time? I don’t know the answer. What do you think? Generally speaking, is “dating” in social media wacko or wonderful?
