Top 10 Retailers In Social Media: U.S. Brand Comparison [Infographic]

Do you know who the top 10 retailers are in social media? I remember back in 2009 when brands were just starting to get involved with social media. We were all so new at it then, and they stumbled through the learning process along with the rest of us. Now, four years later, some brands are rockin the social media scene while others still haven’t gotten their feet wet yet. If you are a brand who hasn’t gotten the hang of social media yet, I want to encourage you to make 2013 your year. There are so many resources online that can help you through the process. Even here on Bit Rebels there are dozens of articles written to help you get over the speed bumps easily.

When I saw this top 10 retailers in social media list, I thought it would be a nice complement to the article Richard wrote the other day called Brand Quality Face-Off: Social Customer Service. That article talked about how we will often make a decision about a brand’s quality based on their response time in social media. However, if a brand has millions of followers, is it really possible for them to reply to everyone in a reasonable amount of time? It’s something that the larger brands struggle with, and some of them, like Starbucks, typically don’t respond to individual tweets at all.

This infographic called Retail Social Media Top 10 by Retail Customer Experience shows the top 10 retailers in the United States ranked according to their social media followings. I wish this list was a worldwide list instead of just a United States list, but this is interesting as well. We are huge fans of Coca-Cola here at Bit Rebels, and since that brand doesn’t have a retail store, it’s not on the list. However, it’s worth noting that if they were on this list, they would be number one on Facebook since they’ve now amassed over 57 million likes on their Facebook page. Enjoy!
