Very Pinteresting: The Fresh Statistics [Infographic]

It’s been a few weeks now since I signed up for a Pinterest account, and I must say that I am quite pleased with the experience. The site, which is experiencing heavy growth, is of course a little sluggish every once in a while, but they usually have it under control within a couple of minutes. I can totally see them upgrading their servers, getting more of them and all of that jazz in order to meet the bandwidth demand that they are now subject to. There’s no doubt that Pinterest has become one of the big boys with such a rapid growth, and we see more and more reports about their constant growth and success. If they could just get that server downtime handled, I am sure Pinterest will become a force to be reckoned with.

Just how successful is Pinterest, and what are the latest statistics and data about it? Maybe this infographic, created by Modea, will give us an insight into the user base and some fundamental statistics about the increase in visitors that the site is experiencing at the moment. It’s a set of 13 quite interesting facts that might change our overall perception about this up and coming social networking giant.

I think the percentage of female users on Pinterest is decreasing a little since it is just around 68% right now. Nevertheless, it has been embraced by the female community way more than any other social networking site out there. It should also be interesting to know that the site’s user base has increased by 2,702.2% since May, 2011. That is impressing in many ways. The way that so many people have managed to find their way to this site and found it to be an easy way of sharing and promoting their creations and meeting new people is just mind boggling. For sure it isn’t the last time we will be impressed by this fresh and user friendly way of networking. I am eager to see where Pinterest will be heading in the future. Can it match the global domination of Facebook and Twitter? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
