What Type Of Hosting To Choose [Infographic]

If you are walking around thinking about starting the next big thing is on the Internet, you are probably wondering where to begin. Well, that is a really broad question that I don’t think anyone can answer but you. First, you need to figure out what you are about to do, and then start planning and researching what you need to put your plan into motion. One of the first things every website has to choose is what kind of hosting service to go with. There are quite a few choices out there, and which one to choose depends on what you want it to do. Already it’s becoming a headache to start realizing your idea, isn’t it?

No worries, one thing you should know before starting to investigate this is that every multinational company in the world has gone through growing pains when it comes to servers, and you will too. It’s a learning curve that is only smoothed by the hosting company you choose to go with initially. This means if a server host isn’t prepared to help you through your growing pains, and to the best of their ability help you understand what is wrong when something comes up, they are not worth spending your money on.

In order to get you started, here is a flow chart that asks the question, “What type of site do you want to host?.” Just answer the following questions, and it will lead you to the answers you have tried to research yourself. It’s an easy way to get started; however, you shouldn’t rely entirely on this since each hosting company has their very own default settings on the servers they make available, and the reliability and performance can differ greatly. This is something that we here at Bit Rebels have experienced all too much. To continue monitoring your server status is always a good thing. It can be the difference between failure and success, which is of course a pretty big factor in your business plan. This flow chart infographic is provided by Rackspace, one of the leading server hosts for blogs and websites all around the world.
