6 Badass Steampunk Cell Phones Worth Checking Out

I have covered a lot of steampunk builds, and I am not about to stop yet. The gadgets that we have featured here on Bit Rebels are of course all modern things that have been Victorianized in order to look steampunk. It’s an art form that has become quite big in the last few years. Everything from computers, cell phones and USB memory sticks to entire pianos and cars seem to be getting a steampunk style. Even horses have gotten the steampunk treatment, and there is no telling what we will see next. Maybe someone is working on a steampunk private jet customization. Who knows, right?

If we were to talk about the more cost effective things, we would of course enter the area of smartphones and cell phones. Those are an especially interesting and popular object to steampunk it seems. Most of them become collectors items, while others are just ridiculous enough to get into the spotlight for a few days only to disappear and never be spoken of again. It’s somewhat of a mystery really.

Some of the most epic customizations come from designer Ivan Mavrovic. I have covered one or two of his creations through the years here on Bit Rebels, but their intricacy is more than enough to feature more. I managed to find a list of his cell phone steampunk customizations, and it is nothing less than amazing. There are 6 cell phones in total that have been the focus of Ivan’s skills, and I believe they are still functional. I am sure that if you ever wanted a unique and still powerful cell phone, one of Ivan’s should be your next target. Why not ask him to steampunk an iPhone 4S or an Android phone? I am sure he’d be up to it for the right price. Being cool isn’t cheap, but you probably already knew that.
