8 New Technologies That Can Help You Live A Longer Life [Infographic]

I remember reading an article a couple years ago that said the first person who will live to be 150 years old has already been born. It went on to say that some doctors believe that the first person to live to be 1,000 years old will be born within the next two decades. Considering the fact that 100 years ago, the lifespan of a human being was about 50 years old, we’ve come a long way. Here are 8 new technologies that can help us each live a longer life.

Is technology really what’s responsible for our increasing lifespan? Apparently so, which is why it is so sad that 1.2 billion people on our planet still don’t have access to any electricity. Technology breakthroughs allow researchers and doctors to get rid of most diseases, but this goes beyond that.

Dr. Aubrey de Grey, who specializes in rejuvenation research, said “We have a 50/50 chance of bringing aging under what I’d call a decisive level of medical control within the next 25 years or so.” This doctor describes aging as the “life-long accumulation of various types of molecular and cellular damage throughout the body.” Some doctors even go so far as to say that we should live well beyond 1,000 years – with proper maintenance. Dr. de Grey suggests, “The whole point of maintenance is that it works indefinitely.”

This infographic called 8 New Technologies Revolutionizing Health and Fitness by MeMD.me lists just a couple of the hundreds of technologies that will help us live a longer life in the future. The question is, if you could live to be 1,000 years old, would you even want to? I’m all about wanting to live a longer life, but I think I’d be ready for a rest before I made it to my 1,000th birthday.
