Alter Your Sense Of Reality: Experience Your Life As A Dream

Get ready for your mind to be blown. Of every app I’ve ever written about, this one is the most fascinating. This app doesn’t just help you do something, like most apps. This app gives you a personalized, custom experience in a dreamland.

Let’s back up a moment. Have you ever heard of augmented sound? It’s a new technology which offers a more advanced option for listening to music. Normally when we listen to music, we hear a song the same way as everyone else does. The song is recorded, and we hear it, and that’s that.

Augmented sound is music that changes according to what we are doing. If we are running, the music is fast. If we are excited, the music builds up excitement. If we are sitting still on the couch, it’s soft and slow. If we are sitting in the sun, it’s happy and warm. We change the music by how we are feeling, what time of day it is, and where we are. It synchronizes to our life. That’s what this app does, so you don’t play it with a touchscreen; you play it with your life.

This app is based on the Inception movie concept, and it uses music from the Inception soundtrack to provide 10 different dreams that you unlock with your movements (more dreams are soon being added). You can read the Dream Reviews to learn the specifics of each dream. According to Inception the App, “This app is a dream machine that transforms the world around you into a dream world. It uses augmented sound to induce dreams through the headset of your iPhone and iPod Touch. It will change your perception of reality.

This is wild and weird and the coolest thing I’ve written about in a while. Thank you to Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer and Michael Breidenbrucker. They have a reminder on the site that says the dream-space is less about the visual and more about the feeling you get from the music. If you try this, pleeeeease come back and leave us a comment with what your experience (or dream) was like!

This app is free, and it’s rated in the top 10 free apps in over 30 countries. You can download it here.
