This Analog Camera Takes On The Digital Domain

There have been plenty of weird and confusing camera concepts presented throughout the years. Some have grown appealing to amateur photographers, while others have been completely unoptimized. When it comes to innovation though, it’s always good to push things to the very edge of what people might want. That is the case with a new kind of analog camera concept that sets out to take over the digital domain with its quite interesting design and features.

New concept designs, especially when it comes to analog cameras, go way beyond the ordinary. When Conran, a London design firm, was challenged to redefine an already existing gadget, they decided to take on the digital camera. Their idea was to bring an element of surprise into the whole digital era and incorporate the analog camera into the digital one. It was not a straightforward task and definitely not an easy one.

In order to accomplish this, they decided to make the viewfinder and the lens (or rather where the lens used to be) just a hole in the camera which would make it not only interesting looking, but quite easy to use as well. If you are looking for an optimized camera where you can take a picture, look at it on an LCS screen at the back of the camera, and possibly add filters, this camera is probably not for you at all.

The fact that it completely lacks a viewfinder or even a LCD screen at the back of it is definitely an interesting design feature. But don’t be fooled, you won’t have to wait for an exposure lab to get your pictures developed. All you will have to do it wait for the camera to connect to any Bluetooth device in the vicinity and let it upload your photos to that device. After that, it’s pretty much up to you what you want to do with your analog camera pictures. It’s a pretty daring concept, and one that if realized could make a whole lot of sense. Well, at least for retro adventurers around the world.
