Sometimes it seems like Microsoft is in a no win situation. They have a reputation for not being innovative enough, and they know they need to ‘think different.’ Then they release a radical Windows 8, which is way different than what users were expecting, and they are slammed for it. Users expect Microsoft to keep everything familiar, yet they’ll complain about them for that same reason. I’ll admit, there are definitely things about Windows 8 that are annoying.

I’m not going to go into the whole Start Menu argument since it’s been done to death, but trust me, there is a reason why that is number one on the infographic below. In addition to just listing the problems though, they took it one step further and offer a solution for each one. Of course, for some of them there is no solution, so in that case they offer a way to make it a little better (like a workaround). I’m very impressed with this in-depth infographic, and it may be the most helpful one you read today.

Microsoft has sold more than 100 million Windows 8 licenses. Although touch enabled Windows 8 devices are not progressing as quickly as they had hoped, 100 million is still a lot. It’s along the same lines as Windows 7. According to this recent article on The Verge, Microsoft defends the changes. However, most people think version 8.1 will return back to being more like what users expect. I’m curious to know, what are the things about Windows 8 that you like or don’t like?
