There are a lot of options to select when it comes to buying a turntable. Everyone offers unique and some interesting feature which makes them unique and attractive to buy. It’s important to take care of your turntable properly to make sure you can get the best possible use out of it. Like a build-up of dust, simple things can ruin your turntable and damage it in the long run.

Some of the aspects of the turntables are very crucial to take care such as calibration, placement and suspension, belt, alignment, and the stylus. Which are considered the delicate parts of the turntables, hence their consistent service or taking care is of utmost importance.

Take Care Of Your Records

As well as the turntable, you need to clean and maintain your individual records. There are various ways to do this, including a micro-fibre cloth, cleaning brush, anti-static mat and cleaning solution. A velvet anti-static vinyl brush is the most popular and one of the most affordable ways to clean your records. Rotate the record on the turntable and use the brush for a couple of turns to remove dust. The anti-static brush helps remove static from the grooves in your records – and takes up very little storage space.

You also need a use cleaning solution on your records for a more thorough clean. However, the wrong cleaning product can permanently damage your records. Alcohol-based solutions deliver excellent results at first but can eventually dissolve the protective coating on the record’s groove. Try to find vinyl-cleaning solutions designed for records, even though they are a little more expensive.

Clean Your Stylus

The stylus is the needle that rests against the record and is usually a cone-shaped item made from a diamond. You should replace the stylus after 1,000 hours of use – depending on the manufacturer’s guidelines. Typically, you will get a few years of use out of a stylus before needing to replace it. Make sure to thoroughly check the stylus’ condition with a magnifying glass and always look for signs of wear.

Good alignment is the key to sound quality. Make sure your stylus sits on the groove accurately and runs smooth.

Maintaining Your Turntable

You should avoid blowing on the needle to clean it, as this may damage the item. You should also clean your turntable after every use to prevent dust from settling on the turntable. Never use your fingers to swipe at the surface, as you may scratch and damage the product.

Keeping your turntable in good working order is not difficult or costly. The key is to keep up with routine maintenance. Maintaining your device’s tuning and cleanliness will guarantee long cartridge life and the highest sound quality.

Make sure to take care of your records and always use the appropriate cleaning equipment because some of the body parts of turntables are sensitive which need timely service for enjoying quality sound consistently. In addition to this, it is not easy to buy such kind of equipment again and again because of the manufacturing cost associated with this product. Therefore, it is very important for the users to take care of the turntables.
