iPhone Add-On Turns Your iPhone Into A Mouse & Gesture Device

I am sure most of us have found ourselves in the annoying position of not being able to control the onscreen pointer with a mouse. It’s not because we can’t, but simply because we don’t have one around to use. That is something which has become an annoyance with the rapid increase of mobile devices. While we get ever more excited to become more mobile, our interaction with the device gets ever slower. Is that a good or a bad thing? Of course it’s bad. Your work will take longer to finish, which means more time is taken away from what you could be doing instead. But there is innovation on the way that could potentially get rid of this annoyance for good. A new iPhone add-on will turn your iPhone into an ultra sensitive mouse, trackpad and gesture device.

This iPhone add-on is a project being realized by a company called Spicebox. It’s a small device that will help you turn your iPhone into that much needed mouse. The Mauz, as it is called, comes with a pretty neat little iPhone app that will allow you to control pretty much any device with your iPhone. The features are pretty off the hook as well. Imagine placing your iPhone on the armrest on your couch, and with just gestures, navigate that Netflix user interface. No Kinect needed with this solution.

This iPhone add-on has been developed for some time now, and the company behind it is looking for funding to complete the project. In order for this iPhone add-on to become a commercial product, they are looking to raise $150,000 in 58 days. The standing right now is that they have managed to raise just north of $6,000. Every prediction says that this project will become a successful one. By just pledging $59.00, you are guaranteed to get a Mauz and app when the project has been fully funded, and of course after it’s had the 58 day run on Kickstarter. Hurry up though, the pledge slots are limited, and it seems this is a hot item which many people want to have. Check out this quite impressive video for an in-depth look at how this iPhone add-on works and interacts with your gadgets.
