Being out in the field and constantly working on your cell phone, or any other mobile device, certainly has its positive and negative sides. You get the mobility and the freedom to work wherever you feel like (if you’re not bound and have to go around to the offices of clients that is). On the downside, you have a limited amount of power and your mobile device certainly won’t have the power to last you forever. You of course have the ability to charge your device using any outlet that might be at hand. However, what if you don’t have access to an outlet anywhere close to you?
There are a few emergency “refillers” that you can buy to charge your device in a jiffy. But, if you don’t want to pay the money for a bulky second hand power injector, then maybe the Jump-Start Card is something that will tickle your fancy. It’s a device developed by designers Chu Li-Chiao, Yang Hsiang-Hui, Chen You-Ren and Lin Chun-Jun, and it is exactly what it sounds like.
What the Jump-Start Card does is that it lets you “borrow” power from another device’s battery. If you happen to have a second phone, or any other mobile device with which you can easily steal power from, you can jump start your primary device in order to get the work done. In situations when you are heavily dependent on your primary device, this could come in pretty handy. However, I don’t understand why you would need it if you have invested in an extra battery or even an emergency power supply. Even though it might be bulky, it would charge your primary device fully, and you will probably have power to last you until you have access to a power outlet to charge your device.
