For a long time now people have wished for smartphone projectors to be put into their smartphones. That has yet to happen, and there is no telling when or even if that is going to happen. If you wish to project movies and videos on a wall using your smartphone there are portable mini projectors that you can buy. But if you don’t want to spend a ton of money buying one you can just make your own. That is what we are going to take a closer look at in this article. [pullquote]We are going to take you through the process of making a smartphone projector using a shoebox.[/pullquote]
So what do you need? Well, here is the full list of things you need to be able to follow this tutorial. You need a hacksaw, shoebox, magnifying glass, foam board, box cutter, glue gun, ruler, compass, some sellotape and your smartphone.
There are a few things that you will have to think about when you start putting together your smartphone projector. Some of those things will be specified in the video tutorial and some you are going to figure out along the way. This tutorial is not in any shape or form a tough tutorial to follow or complete. However, you will have to make sure that you leave room for errors. You will have to make a few minor adjustments to make sure you get the best possible clarity in the picture itself.
This tutorial is uploaded by YouTuber TechBuilder and has attracted almost six million views. The result varies and depends on the quality of the items you use along with the time you put into putting your smartphone projector together.
If you have already tried this tutorial and built yourself one of these, please let us know in the comment section below what you think of it. What result did you manage to get and how does it stand up against real consumer projectors? Probably not very good, however, it could perhaps be a low-budget solution until you have the cash to buy a real smartphone projector. Hopefully, a smartphone manufacturer will soon come out with a phone that has one built in. If my memory serves me right, a couple were announced at various tech events this year. Do you know of any? Again, let us know in the comment section below.
