Iron Man 3 is currently a beast on the Box Office chart. It looks to be hitting 1 billion dollars (worldwide) in just 14 days, and it has already shattered the previous movies’ successes. This time around, Tony Stark seems to have captivated the entire world with his technological creativity and playboyish billionaire shenanigans. Tony Stark might be a fictional character, but did you know there is one guy, a real Iron Man, that is pretty much mimicking what Tony Stark is doing?
His name is Elon Musk, and he is a 41-year old billionaire (Tony Stark is 42) that seems to live a parallel life to that of Tony Stark’s. Elon Musk, or the real Iron Man, has become rich by founding companies like PayPal, Tesla Cars and…oh yeah, the SpaceX price. It’s not a bad resume if you ask me. Not only that, but Elon Musk is actually working on a transportation system that can never crash, is immune to weather, goes 3 to 4 times faster than the Bullet train and goes twice as fast as an aircraft. How’s that for innovation?
The real Iron Man seems to have found a way to combine the fictional with the real, if you know what I mean. The only difference between the two, if we’re talking significant differences that is, is that Elon Musk doesn’t have his own real Iron Man suit. He doesn’t even have dark hair, he is actually blond. Plus Elon, the real Iron Man, was not born in the United States.
Have a look at this infographic about the fictional and the real Iron Man, and you will quickly find that the real Iron Man, Elon Musk, has insane similarities to that of Tony Stark. Another difference that is worth pointing out is that Elon Musk is “only” worth about 2.7 billion dollars while Tony Stark is worth around 9.3 billion dollars. I hardly think it matters with the inventions they are both producing each and every year – a billion here and a billion there. Who’s counting, right? Well, at least sometimes the fictional becomes real, which should be a great reminder about how amazing our world really is.
