Small Step for Man, Giant Leap for Google Earth

We all know Google Earth version 5 (introduced in February of this year) is amazing. My favorite part is the separate globe of Mars. The maps are so high resolution; they will blow your mind if you haven’t seen them. It is a huge upgrade from the browser version of Google Mars. Another feature worth mentioning is the ocean view. This edition of Google Earth enables the user to dive into the ocean and explore underwater in 3D. Also, a plethora of new ocean data is included with this version. How cool is that?

However, the most exciting change in Google Earth version 5 was just introduced on July 20th. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, Google came out with the Google Earth version of Google Moon. According to this YouTube video below released this month by Google, with Moon in Google Earth, you can take tours narrated by Apollo astronauts, view 3D models of landed spacecraft, zoom into 360-degree photos, and watch rare TV footage of the Apollo missions. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Google Earth version 5 you should give it a spin!
