Solar Vox: Charge Any Of Your USB Devices Using The Sun

I take it we’re getting used to gadgets being charged by different weird inventions. I mean, if it’s not solar, it’s wind, but I have yet to see a wave charger. To charge a mobile device in today’s day and age isn’t that hard, but if you want to be able to do it anywhere and whenever you want, that’s different. The sun is only visible for a certain number of hours a day, and the wind is highly unpredictable. Waves are dependent on the sun and the wind in some weird way, so we can rule that one out quite fast.

You’re only left with the option of plugging it in to the power outlet, which is something we all do on a regular basis. However, we can all start looking for optional ways to charge our mobile devices. Some people are coming up with new inventions daily. Some of them don’t really change the game, and some are too outlandish to even be possible to build with today’s technology.

The Solar Vox is one of those gadgets that doesn’t really raise your eyebrows too much, but it is a unique enough breed and design to catch your attention. It’s a USB solar charger that works for pretty much any USB device that is in need of some charging in order to work. At first, I thought it was kind of bulky and odd. However, when I started looking at it more closely and thought about the fact that it works with pretty much any device, then I saw the ingenious idea behind it.

The gadget is a prototype at this stage, but the two creators are hoping to fund the project by people donating money. And, with that, maybe you’ll also buy a couple of these highly interesting gadgets in the meantime. If you pledge $500, you’ll get a t-shirt, extra batteries and a dinner in Detroit with the two creators. Investing today isn’t what it used to be. It’s so much more fun, don’t you think?
