I have come across people who say they are tech savvy, but they don’t seem to know a single term when it comes to technology. Of course you can be somewhat tech savvy even though you don’t know the tech lingo, but if you want to become a true geek, you should probably spend at least some time learning the tech lingo that most geeks know today. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you have to be a rocket scientist in order to converse, but a few terms wouldn’t hurt, right?
If you think about it, how many times have you been lost in a conversation where tech lingo is thrown around like it was yesterday’s news? If your answer to that question is a lingering yes, you should definitely have a look at the infographic (or short dictionary rather) that is included in this article. In order to help all our readers become true and ultimate geeks, I have been presented an infographic called Tech Terms: Glossary produced by Poetic Cases. It should provide you with a really nice foundation of tech lingo which will help you carry your own in a deep techie conversation.
This glossary contains many terms – some of which you will most likely have heard before, but it also contains lingo that might have escaped your awesomeness. It’s always a good thing to read up on your tech lingo since it will not only keep you in the conversation, but it will also keep you updated on what’s going on in the tech world.
If you’re looking to become a real geek then don’t miss out reading through this glossary. Who knows, you might get some of these mentioned to you when you’re in a job interview. Knowing what the heck they are talking about is most likely going to put a couple of gold stars on your sheet. I know many people who have gotten their techie jobs without really knowing what they were doing, but they got their jobs because they knew the tech lingo that was thrown around in the interview room.
Are you going to be one of those or are you going to take it a step further and actually get into it all? Well, that is entirely up to you I guess. At least skim through this tech lingo and get into the geek convos. It’ll certainly help you progress, whatever you’re aiming to become.
