The High Tech Way To Clean Toothbrushes With Ultraviolet Light

How do you keep your toothbrush clean between times when you brush your teeth? It’s a legit question, and one that I’ve thought about many times. I think it’s so lame that we often store our toothbrushes right there, exposed, on the bathroom sink. That means our not so clean toothbrushes are soaking up the makeup, hairspray, lotions and potions we use in the bathroom in the morning. It’s disgusting really. There must be a better way to keep our toothbrush clean.

One way to clean toothbrushes would be to store them in this high tech ultraviolet disinfecting case when we’re not using them. It’s quite a geeky (and controversial) solution. Some people say that although ultraviolet light will kill any germs in its path, it’s not effective because it can only kill the germs that it can reach. In other words, some of the toothbrush’s bristles may still remain germy after using this. That is true, however, this little case will get it 90% clean, and that is better than any other solution I have seen.

This particular ultraviolet light case was created by iRiver. The case has a mirror inside which reflects and directs the UV light to the bristles on your toothbrush. The tray, which your toothbrush lays in, is created from antibacterial materials. Once you put your toothbrush in here for 5-7 minutes, it will be all fresh for you to put back in your mouth again. You can charge this little germ killer with your PC via USB, you can plug it in the wall or you can put batteries in it. If you have another solution for keeping clean toothbrushes in your house, I’d really like to know what it is. It seems like such a silly thing, but keeping our mouths clean is important.
