If you are overweight and have trouble pushing back from the table, this new device might be just the solution you need to help you drop those extra pounds. It’s basically a way to get the effects of having Bulimia without having to actually puke, although I might puke just from watching the contents of this stomach pumping device drain into the toilet. It’s called the AspireAssist device, and it suctions the food out of your stomach before it can all be digested.
All you have to do is wait until 20 minutes after you’ve eaten and then hook up this conveniently packaged stomach pumping device to the tube that leads into your stomach. It sucks some food out. Then you squish water up in there too loosen the rest of the food in your stomach. Then suck some more out of there. Your stomach pumping machine empties right into the toilet. You just keep doing this until you’ve gotten enough food out of your stomach. Then you’re done until the next meal when you eat too much.
The hole that leads into your stomach is called a “skin port,” and this handheld device neatly attaches to it each time. It’s quite disgusting really, but I can see how it might work for some people. Just the thought of having to use this would make me not eat as much.
Since it hasn’t been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, it’s not available in the States yet. However, it’s being used in other parts of the world right now. There is apparently a guy in Sweden who has lost 65 pounds using it. Keep in mind though, during the stomach pumping process, the device can get clogged up and you can have a real-life plumbing problem with your own body. People who use this are told not to eat cauliflower, broccoli, Chinese food, chips or pretzels. Yeah, gagging now. Read more about this home stomach pumping device here on ABC news or Fox News.
