‘Apeeling’ Orange Art: Fun With Fruit

Have you ever wondered what you could do with the orange rinds after you peel and eat your orange? Maybe you compost them, freeze them for orange rind Christmas candy or marinate them in vinegar to make a homemade and safe cleaning solution…but have you ever considered turning them into works of art?

I’ll admit…I actually hate peeling oranges. My poor kids will probably grow up hating it too because I don’t buy them. I’ll occasionally give in to the sweet temptation of a box of nectarines because they peel soooo easy if they’re ripe. So you can understand my disbelief when I found pictures of intricate orange peeling artworks.

Why anyone would take the time to do this is beyond my comprehension, but I can certainly appreciate the effort and the results. It’s definitely original and very unique. This first guy reminds me of the ever popular Annoying Orange…but I swear he isn’t going to talk. I present to you, “Apeeling” Orange Art.
