How To: Make Decorative Angry Birds Easter Eggs

Wait… you didn’t think it was time for those Angry Birds to fly away for good, did you? Well, either fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, it looks like they will be around for a little while longer.

A very creative crafter, Dominika Turek, apparently just can’t get enough of the game that is starting to drive some of us nuts (hint hint). She decided to make some Angry Birds Easter eggs, and of course, she included the pigs too.

On her Twitter page, Dominika a.k.a. @niquefoture, describes herself as being a bit geeky. Based on this cute design, I would have to agree with that. The technique she used to make these was quite simple, it’s called decoupage. The only materials required are napkins, Styrofoam balls, drawing pins and decoupage glue. I would guess you also need some colorful paint and a cup full of creativity.

If you really wanted to get down and dirty, you could make these with real eggs and create a birds team and a pigs team with friends. Whoever ends up with the least amount of egg on them wins. Now that is an Easter game I could get excited about. As Dominika says, “Those pig bastards stole the eggs!” You can get all the deets and see a ton more pictures taken during the design process on Angry Easter.
