We’ve seen Disney princesses mashed up so many different ways, and I really didn’t think there was any other way to present them that hadn’t already been done. We’ve seen them look sexy, demure, like supermodels, and even like real women. I mean, what else could possibly be done, right? Wrong. As we always say; never say never. If the inspiration is right, there is always a new way to create an interpretation of something we all love.
These are Disney princesses dressed up like Pokemon trainers. Why would someone do this? Well, why not? In the series called Pokemon Princesses, deviantARTist Hapuriainen redesigned Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, Mulan, Tiana and Rapunzel.
She tried to emulate Sugimori’s style, and you can click over to her deviantART page to read her comments about each one. At first, she tried to use a few tutorials she found, but like many artists, she ended up just doing it her own way. I like the princesses looking like this. They look sporty and tough. I’m a huge fan of Pokemon, and I love the princesses, so this is just my style. Now if we could just see these Pokemon princesses in a movie kicking some serious butt, we’d be all set. Cinderella is my favorite, but then again, I’ve always been her biggest fan. Very nice!
