Adam Savage Creates Flawless Han Solo Blaster Replica [Video]

Almost everyone is familiar with Mythbusters these days, but if you aren’t, it’s a TV series that debunks or proves myths that have become legends throughout the years. The two main hosts of the show, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, have become icons of innovation in the last few years. Maybe that is why Adam Savage decided to take on the task of building the infamous Han Solo blaster, to once and for all create a real replica.

One thing that I didn’t know is that the Han Solo’s blaster featured in the Star Wars movies is not always the same gun. There are several different builds, and of course fanatic Star Wars fans have spotted them all. They even know the differences between all of them. It’s a meticulous endeavor, and finding the most iconic one for the build is not exactly an easy task either.

In the video below, we are treated to an almost 17 minute long building log where Adam Savage puts together the Han Solo DL-44 Blaster with almost surgical precision. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the blaster etched and colored, but the parts are as close to identical as any fandom builder could possibly incorporate into a custom build. All this becomes apparent when you see how precisely the custom parts were created, and how finely tuned the assembly of the Han Solo blaster is.

For all you Star Wars fans out there, this is something to respectfully drool over. I bet some of you would do anything to have your very own replica like this. Who knows, maybe this one is up for grabs over at eBay or something. I doubt it, but it’s always worth a look I reckon. Have a look at the video below, and marvel over the skills and craftsmanship Adam Savage is able to incorporate into this soon to be legendary Han Solo blaster replica.
