Growing up as a kid back in the ’80s was a blast since there was a flood of awesome and iconic cartoons presented to us pretty much all the time. Some of them developed their very own cult following that is still strong today and quite active. Back then, it was a constant battle between the game console and the cartoons. If they were ever to clash, deciding which one to go for was the hardest decision in the world. As you all know, as kids, we hadn’t yet fallen victim to the worldly news. As adults, that can constantly keep us under an idle spell of worry and despair. During that magical time, things were just a little bit easier, and we could concentrate on things that were not so serious all the time.
Who doesn’t remember He-Man for example? Or even Thundercats! The list would be infinite if I were to continue typing it, but we’re not going to do that right now of course. In this article, I would like to point out the awesomeness of one artist named Fabian Ciraolo who loves bringing the old into the new with a twist that we haven’t seen before. If you thought He-Man never really dressed up like the rest of us, you will definitely rethink that after seeing what Mr. Ciraola doodles together.
What actually makes these images so darn cool is the fact that they are made from one and the same thought. The world is about hipster, and so are these childhood heroes portrayed. Long gone is the He-Man wielding his sword in hopes to defeat evil once and for all. Also long gone are the furry cats of the ever-battling forces that harness the power of thunder and lightning. They have all become hipsters of the 20th century, and by the looks of it, that’s the way they will stay in our memories from now on. Besides, who can ever forget these soon to be legendary images of our missed and almost forgotten childhood heroes? What was your favorite cartoon as a child?
