Retro Paper Dress Up Dolls For People Stuck In The ’80s

I remember as a kid what it was like to open a new box of cereal after my mom bought it. Usually there was a toy inside, and on the back of the box you could sometimes find those paper dress up (pop up) dolls that you could cut out and play with. Unfortunately I never spent too much time actually cutting them out, but it is a memory that has stuck with me since my younger years. Kids today are more used to electronic dress up dolls than the paper ones. The apps are usually free and sport everything from monsters to barbies. I wonder if kids today would even know what those were if they ever got added to cereal boxes again. For retro travelers, this article will be a sight for sore eyes.

It so happens that talented illustrator Hoborobo put together a couple of paper dress up dolls for your creative pleasure- and boy are they retro! If you happen to like the ’80s as much as I do, these paper dress up dolls should become a focal point on your office desk. They are all characters we used to admire and love on the silver screen, and they are also the ones that we furiously tried to beat on our Nintendo NES games during the 1980’s.

Hoborobo created paper dress up dolls out of Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Marty McFly and of course Super Mario. Even I have to admit that the retro feeling I get from just looking at these are astounding. All you really have to do is to print these and cut them out. Maybe this is something for your kids to have a gander at. Creativity is best when the end result is something that you can actually use. Judging from the paper dress up dolls’ success back in the old days, these are certainly something that will put a smile on everyone’s face. I am sure that we’ll see a whole lot more of these awesome paper dress up dolls in the future.
