Funny Grammar Mistakes On Signs In America [20 Pics]

English is my native language, and I’m the first to admit it’s really messed up sometimes. Or, better stated, everyone messes it up sometimes. There are so many little quirky grammar rules to remember that it can give you a headache just trying to keep it all straight. If I get frustrated with the English language, I can only imagine how some people who learn English as a second or third language feel about it. Writing in English can be even more tricky than speaking it since grammar mistakes are so easy to make. Those dang commas and apostrophes can mix up anyone.

I don’t know exactly why, but when we see grammar mistakes here in America, it’s funny. We all giggle a little about it, and when we see those things, I can’t help but wonder if we’re all thinking, “Thank gosh I’m not the only one who makes that same mistake.” I know I think that a lot of times. This very humorous collection of English grammar mistakes on signs here in the States will definitely make you laugh. For all those native English speakers who think they are the “grammar police,” and they point out every grammar mistake they find on every blog they visit, this will probably feel like fingernails going down a chalkboard to you. tee hee

Richard and I actually had a conversation about this a while back. Think about it from this perspective…If only those people who could type in perfect English with no mistakes posted things on the Internet (I don’t know anyone who can do that by the way), it would be a very boring place. The Internet is all about diversity, sharing ideas, and learning about people from all over the world. It’s not about being critical when someone makes English grammar mistakes. However, I do understand that from a blogging perspective, it’s important to get it right if possible otherwise your reader might not fully understand what you are trying to explain. Regardless of all that…I hope you enjoy these 20 completely ridiculous pictures!
