Oreo Dunking Lifehack: You’ll Never Dunk An Oreo The Same Way Again

Oreo cookies wouldn’t be the same without a glass of milk. Even people who don’t normally drink milk (like me) crave a glass of milk to accompany a plate of Oreo cookies. During the dunking process, a lot can go wrong though. If you hold your cookie in the milk too long, it can fall apart and sink to the bottom. If you dunk it in too far (which I usually do), your hands get all icky. There must be a better way to dunk Oreos. What we need is a lifehack to solve this problem.

A couple years ago, Richard wrote about a little plastic device called a Dipr which was specifically designed to dunk Oreos. Nobody has time to keep up with an Oreo dunker though. A lifehack would be perfect because it wouldn’t require any tools. It just so happens that I stumbled across the most brilliant Oreo cookie lifehack e-v-e-r today.

As with most lifehacks, you are probably going to look at this and think, “Why didn’t I think of that?” It seems so obvious, simple and perfect. According to WonderHowTo, “The cream in the middle is the perfect consistency to hold it on the fork, and the cookie won’t break or crumble.” They also point out that this is a good way to get the first few Oreos out of the package, which can be a struggle.

I’m not sure, but I think the person who gets credit for coming up with this idea is Karly at Buns In My Oven. The fork dunking pictures below are from a post on her blog from back in 2010, which was when she educated the world about the proper way to dunk Oreos. I will never again dunk an Oreo in milk with my fingers. I guess that means this qualifies as life-changing information. Enjoy!
