The Epic Failed Predictions For The End Of The World [Infographic]

Some of you might feel like this year is a year of constant shadows. The looming doomsday of the Mayan calendar ending has been subject to both speculation and a movie script. I am sure there are a lot of people out there who feel like this year will be the last year the earth will see its constant sunrises and sunsets. The events that are supposedly going to end the world are many of course, and keeping track of them all can be quite a mouthful. Finding an answer to the simple question, “Is this the last year of our promised everlasting time?” is definitely not easy to acquire. There is a remedy for the anxiety you might feel if you are dead sure things are going to take a turn for the worse.

As a matter of fact, history is littered with doomsday predictions that were ultimately debunked. They go back hundreds and hundreds of years, and we are still here. So why is it that we suddenly believe that just because the Mayan calendar doesn’t continue after a certain date in December (I think it is) the world is going to end? Maybe they just didn’t have the energy to keep adding days, months and years to their calendar since they understood that their civilization would be long gone by then.
