iPad 2 Window: Put An Outside View Wherever You Want

It’s not an understatement to say that the iPad 2 had quite a successful demo launch.  First we saw Steve Jobs demo it, which in itself is a huge plus considering all the horrible reports about his health, but it also features so many cool new things that will make it one of those must-have products of 2011.  The sleek design and the redesigned interior make it a wonderful gadget with huge capabilities.  The front and back camera also provides a new way to use FaceTime, which has been a huge success on the iPhone 4.  Just what the app developers will do with all the new goodies is hard to say, but one thing is certain, it will be everything we haven’t even imagined yet.

But working or playing around with the iPad or the iPad 2 can certainly put us in a fixed position inside the house.  Even when we are not working on the iPad, we tend to sit in front of the computer working away.  That’s when it would be great to get a view out into the real world, outside that concrete wall you’re staring at when working.

The iPad Window is a concept idea by John Leung to use either a photo or a webcam feed to show any location in a window-like setup.  Sure, it might set you back about four iPad 2s in terms of money, but that’s a low cost if you are able to find a good feed from, let’s say Hawaii, to project onto your four iPad 2 screens.  The view would be a pleasant welcoming to the office which we all know you’re spending hours and hours at during your busy day.  It’s a really cool little project that I would really like to see in real life.  It’s a great solution to the problem if you don’t want to knock a hole in that concrete wall, or if you don’t want to buy a huge wide screen TV to plaster your feed or photos to.  Hmm, wouldn’t that be cheaper still?  This is an ongoing project for sure.
