Tesla has long been showing us the way when it comes to electric cars and living. So much that they have completely changed the direction the auto industry is heading. That is, of course, both good and bad. While Tesla enjoys pre-orders by the thousands, they are also showing other car manufacturers that electric is the way to go. This will spawn more and more competition for Tesla, who is surprisingly all for a competitive business landscape. The newest competitor to enter the battle of the customers is Porsche, who is now gearing up to go after Tesla with their very own electric car.
The car that Porsche has presented is called Mission E and is a stunning piece of technology. [pullquote]Porsche Mission E will give Tesla a run for their money and customers.[/pullquote] Staying true to their sleek lines and design, the Porsche Mission E electric car is everything a sports car fan can ever dream of. Every detail is designed to conjure up that sexy and hot wow-factor that we all know and love about Porsche.
The Mission E car will have two electrical motors which will give the car equivalent to 600 horsepower. It’s called a sports car for a reason, right? The car will also have a range somewhere around 250 miles per charge.
Porsche is betting big and has previously said they would hire another 1,000 people to make the car a reality. However, they have recently upped that number to 1,400 and estimate that the car will be available to customers by 2020.
So far, the Missione E electric car is still in its concept stage but was show at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt last September. Not too many details have been released about the car itself, but the images and the shown concept car gives us an idea what the company is gunning for. There are no reports that we have found, mentioning the price for this fantastic car. But, it will most likely be beyond the scope of us deadly people. We will have to settle for a LEGO version of a Porsche 911 instead.
Tesla looks to have a new competitor in their future so they better up those innovative features they have long been pumping out. There is always the chance that Tesla travels the same path as Apple, slowing down their innovation rate and thus falling behind.
What do you think? Will the Porsche Mission E electric car be able to go head to head with Tesla when it is finally on the market? Let us know in the comment section below.
