Star Wars Mini: Smallest Working Arcade Game Cabinet Ever

Diana and I always joke around about which one of us would whoop the other one’s butt on Asteroids. I guess for us, it’s a way to measure the geekiness in ourselves. I know for a fact that she would kick my butt any day of the week, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t put up a fight. After all, who in their right mind would just lay down in defeat and call it a day, right? Nope, it would be an epic battle that I think would totally rock. I have to mention; however, that she has the upper hand since she has her very own Asteroids arcade cabinet in her house. I could call it cheating, but then again, I like a good challenge.

However, what if we were to kick it up a notch and instead choose a game that is out of reach for both of us, then would I have a chance? I want to think so. Let’s take the Star Wars trench run game from 1983 for example. That would totally be a suitable candidate for a challenge, especially the version Le Chuck put together. It’s a 1/6 scale Atari Star Wars arcade cabinet that is fully working and all.

It’s a marvel of a feat really, if you ask me. It has to be the coolest replica to date, and the fact that it’s all there is just mind blowing. With “all there,” I of course mean that everything that was in the original game is present in this mini arcade cabinet. It comes with fully working controls so just slam it down on the table in front of you and begin kickin butt. The mod is built and powered upon a GPX CAANOO Linux portable media player, and the graphics couldn’t be more retro. This is definitely the edge of modding. No question about it!
