This Is What A Transparent iPad Would Look Like

With the transparency concept being as popular as it is, it’s no wonder everyone is trying to come up with something entirely new. Just a few days ago we learned that a company in Japan unveiled a concept transparent smartphone. I guess were all wondering how Apple reacted to that announcement. Is transparency even on their interest radar? For everyone who is wondering, this is what a transparent iPad might look like if there ever was one.

This beautifully rendered transparent iPad would certainly cause some interest if it would ever become reality. The renders and the video come from concept designer Ricardo Luis Monteiro Afonso and is an attempt to create something most people only dream of. The transparent screen has become synonymous with ingenuity, so people are constantly trying to imagine gadgets that implement this new technology.

A transparent iPad would probably become a huge success, but the technology is still quite limited. When we have seen transparency implemented into smartphones and screens, the contrast has always been moderate, if even that. Until the graphical elements can be shown in full color, I don’t think a transparent screen would do any good on devices other than vending machines.

The way Ricardo managed to render this ultra realistic transparent iPad is impressive. We have of course seen plenty of concept designs being “virtualized,” but this one is definitely a cut above most of them in terms of quality. We should remember the renderings of the iPhone 4s last year. They were said to be renders, but when the phone was finally announced, they looked spot on. So the question is, were they really renders? We could sit here and debate that all day long, but you will always come to the same conclusion. That is whatever it was, render or not, there is a hope that the renderings of this beautiful transparent iPad will turn out to be the real deal as well.
