The Remote Controlled Secret House Entrance That Every Geek Needs

I know what you are going to say – If every geek had this secret house entrance, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore. That may be true, but that doesn’t take away from its awesomeness. This is without a doubt the best hidden house entrance I’ve ever seen, and I wish I could make this for my own house. I wonder if it would work on a house made of bricks…

Geeks love secret hiding places, secret stashes of things, secret passageways and secret doors, right? Well, at least I do. If they’re done right, they are just so clever and geeky. It’s like having a secret that nobody knows about except for you. About a year ago, I wrote about a secret hiding place you can make yourself in the top of an interior door in your house, and that was neat, but it didn’t even come close to how cool this is.

This is a totally secret house entrance that is disguised as just part of the outside of the house. The water spicket, which is really a doorknob that opens the secret door, is all part of the plan. To make this even geekier, it requires using a remote control to unlock. I’m getting all giddy writing about this because it’s so brilliant.

If you want to make one of these secret house entrances for yourself, just click over the YouTube where you can get the whole list of supplies and things you’ll need to put it all together. There’s even links to where you can get the stuff you’ll need. I can think of so many ways this would be useful. I would have a rule though – no going in or out the door in the daytime. It would have to be completely dark. After all, if your neighbors knew about it, it would be game over.
