Unimaginable Surrealistic Sand Sculptures

Sometimes you just have to take a few steps back and enjoy all the creativity that is shared on the Internet. I know, it’s hard to do in today’s fast paced society, but sometimes it’s really the best thing you can do. You will not only get a chance to breathe, but you will also be able to get a new perspective on things, and that might boost your creativity a lot. As I have stated so many times before, there is really an endless stream of imagination being shared through various output channels across the Internet, and if you ever thought that your inspiration just died, then hitting up one of these imagination pools is a sure bet to jump start your day.

Sand sculptures, in particular, are one of the things I have always been fascinated by. I don’t think it is because of the motifs the artists create (well, if it has to do with Star Wars it’s of course a given), but the way they are able to create so much out of an element that is so fragile. I have heard that they use all kinds of stuff to make it stick so they can create whatever they imagine. I have no idea whether or not that is true, but I have heard that they use everything from potato starch, to glue, to hair spray. Maybe you know better than me how they manage to create all of these insane creations.

Talking about insane creations immediately brings my thoughts to Carl Jara‘s amazing sand sculptures. Not only do they defy gravity itself, but they are as unimaginable as you can think of, however weird that might sound. The surreal way he grabs our attention is just mind boggling. It almost reminds me of the surrealistic artwork created by Salvador Dali in some ways. I bet going to one of his installations on a beach somewhere is as inspiring as finding a never-ending design resource on the Internet. The benefit being that you get a chance to get outside for a second. We all need the air and some time away from the computer every now and then. Check these creations out and make sure you also visit Carl’s website for an endless supply of his other creations.
