Cork Pants & Jacket For Recycling Fanatics

There seems to be no end to the creativity in people’s minds when it comes to the form, texture and design of pants. It’s like it has become an obsession that just has to deplete every possible combination of weird and unearthly concepts. We have seen plenty of examples of this here on Bit Rebels in the last couple of weeks. It’s been everything from Bikini Jeans to yesterday’s Shoe Pants. I don’t know if they are up to the latest and greatest fashion guidelines, but they seem to have spawned quite a bit of interest among our readers. So where can pants go from here? Is there even a way to make pants that hasn’t been done before?

If you talk to the people behind the Cork Pants, I would totally say there is. The pants, which are created by interconnecting hundreds of recycled wine corks, are a perfect fit if you are planning to go on a sailing trip around the world. If you at any point find yourself in the water, you can be quite sure that you will be bobbing up and down without a care in the world. Well, that is if you’re sporting the Cork Jacket as well.

I have to admit, it’s a fantastic way to recycle corks. However, as a fashion statement, I don’t think it falls under the geek or the hipster category. Maybe it goes in the floating nerd category at best. No matter if you think it looks good or not, this thing is a welcome sight in the ever so boring fashion scene. I don’t think I will ever sport a pair or even have them to store in my closet. However, I can’t deny the fact that they are unique and quite creative. Maybe they would be a perfect fit for a wine taster. What do you think?
