There comes a time in everyone’s day when you feel like you need a nap to keep going. Today’s fast paced world is getting to all of us, and we’re starting to see more and more people sporting the trendy sleep deprivation disorder, or whatever you want to call it. Sleep is a necessity if you want to stay productive and creative. Some people need less sleep than others, but we can never completely rule out sleep from our lives. That’s why we need to learn how to take the perfect nap.
There are several types of naps, and every single one of them has its own benefits. Even though there are probably a lot more nap types than this, they are usually categorized as 10 minute, 30 minute, 60 minute and 90 minute naps. If you want to run your entire sleep cycle, yet not sleep through an entire day, you would want to choose the 90 minute nap. For a creative and active person, this is the perfect nap which will ensure that your body and soul are completely in sync. Napping for 90 minutes will also prevent sleep-inertia, making it easier to wake up.
If you’re looking for a boost in energy and alertness, you should go for the 10 minute nap. It’s the perfect nap if you’re short on time and need all the energy you can get but don’t want to miss that deadline of yours. But don’t for one second think this nap type will keep you going for a longer period of time. Napping for 10 minutes will certainly infuse you with a power boost, but it’s not a good choice if you want keep working for a longer period of time.
Studies show that as many as 34% of the American adult population take a nap during their day in order to easier deal with their daily endeavors. That is a considerable amount of people who have adopted napping to boost their energy. Only you can figure out which nap is the perfect nap for you. You will most likely have to try them all out during different periods of your day in order to find which one is best suited for you and your schedule.
Don’t go losing your job though as I am sure most employers do not really encourage their employees to sleep for 90 minutes during work hours.
