File Management Tool Could Become Every Photographer’s Dream

File management has always been a very important endeavor amongst IT people. Whether you’re a photographer, web designer or coder, file management is one of the key tasks to keep it all organized. For decades we have moved stuff over to a disk, a CD ROM or a hard drive only to move everything over to something else when we need the space again. For a photographer, this endeavor is all too familiar. Moving pictures from a USB or an SD card is a time consuming task that can easily disrupt inspiration. Today we copy all of things from our USB sticks to a computer one by one. What every photographer has been longing for is a straightforward and optimized file management tool that will save valuable time.

A new concept put together by a bunch of people (Saharudin Busri, Mohd Nizam Najmuddin, Mohd Rohaizam Mohd Tahar, Nuzairi Yasin and Nazjimee Amat Omar for MIMOS Berhad) could possibly revolutionize the way photographers (and the rest of us) take on file management. Their new file management tool USB2USB is a tablet with an SD card and numerous USB connections. It will allow you to connect a couple of USB sticks or an SD card and browse the pictures or files you really want to use. Then you just move them over to one place which you later connect to your computer.

Just 3 millimeters thick, this mind blowing file management tool can easily fit into your pocket. It’s the ultimate mobile device which you can use on your way home from your photo session or casually in front of the TV. It reads all popular formats, and with a bit of innovation, I am quite sure WiFi could be incorporated into it too. That way, you will be able to upload your files to your computer wirelessly. It’s a brilliant innovation which could, when realized, become every photographer’s dream. As of right now, it’s only on the drawing table. Who knows when it will really be realized. However, it won the 2012 Red Dot award for best design concept,  so I am hopeful!
