There are several rumored reports from independent sources that say Apple is working on an iWatch. It is also rumored that Foxconn was asked to produce 1,000 trial iWatches for Apple in order to analyze the result and speed of a large scale production order. There will no doubt be a whole lot of groundbreaking apps for the iWatch, if it ever becomes a reality. One of those could be a concept app which showcases a slim and quite appealing Maps UI (User Interface) running on the iWatch.
This is an intriguing idea and brilliant execution which comes from designer Martin Hajek. He managed to break down the real Maps UI into a slimmer version, which makes perfect sense. Further rumors say that Apple is also working on a core app that will help you find your parked car and even unlock it when you approach with the help of an authentication app. All of these are of course just rumors that are flying around, but there have been patents filed by Apple that suggest this is actually what they are planning to introduce.
This new and slimmer Maps UI would become the perfect pedestrian navigator app for tourists who are visiting cities they haven’t been to before. It would be like having your very own personal navigator on your arm. No more busting out the iPhone just to find out where you are, where you are going, and how to get there. This way, you will have all the information you need right there on your iWatch.
It is said that the iWatch and the slimmer version of the Maps UI could possibly communicate with each other in order to relay information so you will always have logs and information about where you have been, where you are going, etc. The thought of being able to setup a travel plan on your iPhone which is then pushed to your iWatch Maps UI is quite appealing, and it gives an idea about how the two could work together without adding too much clutter to the iWatch itself.
