WynCASE: Retro Console Case For Today’s iPhone

Let’s return to the gaming side of the iPhone for a second. Games are one of the reasons, if not the biggest one, why the App Store has become such a huge success. This is not only because there are games to be downloaded, but also because developers have a platform to present their games and share them with the world. It’s an opportunity that sparked what has become the “second gold rush.” Developers have over and over again proven that with a good concept, an application can make millions. The smartphone format in general is perfect for games, utilities and entertainment applications, but there has always been something missing, at least for gamers. It’s hard to immerse yourself into a game without the right controls, and maybe a retro console case can solve that.

It wasn’t too long ago that I wrote about a smartphone case called the PhoneJoy that could very well make gaming a whole lot more fun, but it meant you would either have to transport a somewhat bigger smartphone with you wherever you went, or you would have to take it apart and carry around two pieces. That’s where the WynCASE makes more sense.

The guys over at WynLABS decided there must be a simpler way to create a console case without making it excessively bulky, and they were right. The WynCASE is a case not too much bigger than your average iPhone case (depending on what case we’re talking about) that will enable you to play games as if they were on a console. The console case is actually a startup, and WynLABS is currently raising capital through Kickstarter to get their console case into production. They want to raise $80,000 in order for the project to be funded, and just pledging $30.00 will get you your own console case as soon as it is ready for shipping. How’s that for a deal? Have a look at their introductory video to learn more. Gaming has never been more fun than it will be on a WynCASE retro console case. I can’t wait to try it out!
