When conducting a social media marketing campaign, it is important to know your numbers. To blindly unleash a marketing campaign would be like jumping from a plane without a parachute and hoping there would be a huge pillow to break your fall when you reach the ground. It’s just an altogether bad idea. What you want to do is to question your own goals and what it takes to reach them. Then carefully research the numbers necessary to match the numbers that your goals are based on, and from there plan your social media marketing campaign. It might sound like a lot of work, especially when there are social networking services out there that are instant and almost in real time. That might be the case, but that doesn’t save your campaign from failing hard if you haven’t really done your homework.
You need to have access to the path to success in order to get there. It’s just common sense really. Knowing exactly what social networking service(s) to use is vital for your investment to really pay off, both in time and money, at the end of the campaign. But you should always remember that nothing is ever guaranteed. At the end of the day, it’s all up to the consumers whether your campaign is a success or a failure, but one thing that either scenario brings with it is data. You have a great opportunity to study your campaign’s success or failure with the data you gather during its run. You can keep building your endeavor’s future success by sitting down, laying it all out and then picking apart the aspects that made it a success or a failure.
But where do you find the data and statistics to base your social media marketing campaign on in the first place? I mean, if you have never run a campaign before it’s quite clear that you have no data to base it on, right? There are of course a lot of different sources from where you can get the necessary data in order to get started. One such source is the infographic that Patricia Redsicker put together.
It’s an infographic called the 2012 Social Media Marketing Industry Report, and it is a compilation of some of the major social networks and their statistics. You will quite easily be able to derive the necessary data you need in order to choose the best outlet for your social media marketing campaign. The consensus of this infographic is really that social media marketing is becoming increasingly more important, and the money spent on it is on a steep rise. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to reach an audience that you would never have been able to reach if you decided to go with the more conventional marketing options. Social media is simply too vast and is becoming too powerful to be overlooked. For each day that you are not putting yourself on the social media playing field, it’s a day that you miss out on your potential success.
