Chatbots are also very common in the e-commerce field, where they personalize our shopping experience and answer any niggling questions we might have while we shop online.

AI pets are nothing new, but the technology has moved on from the days of Furbies. Chinese AI researchers have developed a powerful new AI therapeutic robot called PARO. The robot applies the principles of machine learning to interact with its environment. The device is currently being tested for use with dementia patients and results are very promising. In the meantime, China is pouring money into tech startups focusing on Artificial Intelligence research. In fact, the Chinese government has pledged to invest $15 billion by 2018.
AI Language Learning is another key area and there may come a time when you can have an intelligent conversation with a next generation Siri or Cortana.
