Playing with food is fun, isn’t it? It’s one of those things we’re told not to do when we’re young, which may be why it’s extra fun when we are adults. I remember last year when I wrote about Jim’s Pancakes. Jim is a wonderful father who creates fun pancake designs for his daughter. When I look at some of those designs, it’s hard to believe their edible.
While it might not be very easy to create designs like that on a sleepy Saturday morning, there are still other ways we can make cool pancake designs for a special breakfast in bed. All we need is a little squeeze bottle, some batter, and our wild imaginations! Oh, a little strawberry jam to make the hearts red at the end might be nice too.
I found a great article that explains exactly how to make designer pancakes. In this article, the author suggests using a pastry bag. I’m sure for the intricate designs that would be best; however, I kind of like Sherbert Blossom’s technique below with the squeeze bottle. You can get that type of bottle at any craft store, and most supermarkets. Depending on how thick your pancake batter is, you might have to cut the whole in the bottle a little bigger. Have fun!
Those are all a little too sophisticated for you? Then how about a toilet pancake design? It comes complete with… um… a chocolate surprise inside! nom nom
This design is probably the easiest one of all. Just add food coloring and cook!
