We write about shoes a lot on Bit Rebels. I’m a shoe girl all the way, and I own more pairs of shoes than I do shirts, socks and blue jeans combined. I’m in love with beautiful shoes, and I can’t help it. It’s just who I am. Often times we write about shoes that aren’t even made to wear. Richard just wrote about these super sweet Nike Air Mags made out of Lego yesterday.
When I saw this creative way to wear shoes, I knew I had to share it with you. These are lace-up combat boots with wild flowers stuck in them. These are part of Ashish Spring 2012 collection which was just unveiled at London Fashion Week. It’s a fun way to add a little pep in our step!
In the fashion show where these were featured, they were part of a larger punk style including black lipstick and messy hair. The flowers used were oversize roses, poppies, small sunflowers, pansies and daisies. Some of them look very wilted, and I’m not sure if that is part of the overall look, or if it’s because they can’t be out of water for long before they start to die. I wear boots a lot in the fall and winter, but I’ve never been a big fan of combat boots. They are just so big and clunky. However, this is adds some girly charm and makes those funky boots look much more feminine. I like it a lot! I think the thought behind it could be a great inspiration for all kinds of other shoe/flower combinations! You can see the models and their complete looks while wearing these boots on British Vogue.
