I’ve been writing a lot lately about artists who use their talent to creatively illustrate their daily lives and experiences. To be able to draw a picture of a feeling or emotion is truly a gift since it involves injecting that feeling into the artwork itself. It’s easier said than done I’m sure.
What about photography? Is it possible to illustrate human emotions through a photograph? If someone who didn’t read English moved to this country, would it be possible to teach that person the words of human emotions (i.e. friendship or fear) through a series of photographs?
I went on a hunt to see what I could find. I started looking for photographs that described the most common emotions that we feel on a daily basis. I think I’ve found some photos that truly capture the essence of the words themselves. There is so much feeling wrapped up in words like love and compassion; however, whether the emotion is complex or basic, these pictures really show us the meaning of what it’s like to be a human being and feel our way through life. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
