Earlier this year when cellists Stjepan Hauser and Luka Sulic came out with their rendition of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal, the world went crazy and their video almost immediately went viral. Their new single, which is a cover of Guns N’ Roses’ Welcome to the Jungle, is already creating a huge buzz.
Luka said, “Covering Welcome to the Jungle was a real challenge but that one we were up for! We chose this song because we thought that it could sound like a whole symphony using only our 2 cellos. We’re really proud of it and think it rocks!”
The cello duo just kicked off their European tour a few days ago by opening for Elton John in Wales. Their album, called 2CELLOS, is available for pre-order now. It features their covers of Guns N’ Roses, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, U2 and more. As you’ll see in this video, Stjepan and Luka show us some of the things that have become their signature, like shaking while they play. I love it! Since I listened to Guns N’ Roses all through high school, this is especially interesting to me. It puts a whole new spin on a classic we all know and love.
