I remember about a year ago when Diana wrote an article about how you can kill a lobster the humane way. It was one of those articles on Bit Rebels that instantly went viral, and people had a lot of different opinions about it. There were so many in fact that the site was having a hard time keeping up with all the traffic. The article saw hundreds of comments (we’ve switched the commenting system since then) both confirming the humane way as well as condemning the way the chef killed the lobster. I guess it’s one of those times when you tap into people’s true and unhidden feelings about the wildlife on the planet. Some people were ultimately angry, while others took the approach of hardcore food enthusiasts.
What the reactions will be for a creative approach like what I am about to show you is of course unknown. However, there is no getting around the fact that millions and millions of people enjoy the deliciousness of a lobster every New Year’s Eve and pretty much all year around. What you thought you had to throw away at the end of your meal could potentially become a beautiful piece of artwork that will just blow your mind.
Food carver Huang Mingbo created an insanely creative Lobster Motorcycle sculpture out of the remains of a few lobsters. The “build” got so much attention that newspapers all over the world started reporting about it. It’s one of those things that you can’t decide whether it is macabre or just plain awesomeness. Either way, it has to be one of the most unique sculptures most of us have ever seen. Every detail is so carefully attended to that you just want to keep looking at it. Macabre or not, it’s just beautifully put together. May the lobster rest in peace!
