New Game Controller Makes Gaming More Social & Physical

Imagine yourself in front of your computer or your gaming console for a moment. Even though you are playing a game that is considered to be social gaming, you are still playing it by yourself on your own joystick, controller, keyboard or virtual keyboard. Even with the Wii or the Kinect, you are still playing with your own joystick or wand. Playing together has never really been about actually playing together physically, but that is something the guys over at Combiform are about to change. Their inspiring innovation is a new game controller that allows players to really play together, not in a singular perspective, but in the very meaning of the word. If successful, the features of this new game controller could change the way we play games on our gaming systems.

Combiform is the mind-child of 4 young innovators who think gaming should be more physical and social. Their new game controller is a unique take on how we used to play games that were not on a computer or a console. It was developed and conceptualized in a way that no other controller has been before. With a rotatable handle and a unique set of magnets, these new game controllers are able to join together into a gaming style that we have never before experienced.

This will allow new kinds of games to be developed, which is something the team has been hard at work demonstrating in their Kickstarter video. Yes, this is yet another startup project that unfortunately ends in 26 hours (at the time of writing this). The team is looking to raise $90,000 in order to finalize their product, but at the present time it looks like they are not going to be able to hit their mark. Since this is their second Kickstarter round, I am sure we will see more of these guys in the future. Their dedicated approach to their invention tells me that they will refine their presentation and give it another shot. As a new game controller, it is quite an interesting concept, but if the number of people pledging is any indication about how many people would like a new game controller like this, I unfortunately don’t see this product taking off anytime soon.
